Afterparty / Tipping points - Critical Sustainabiltites

On September 30.9, Tipping Points - Critical Sustainabilities takes over Tekstin Talo in Helsinki. Organized by a group of sustainability researchers from different universities, the event is an open, free- of- charge unconference and workshop to discuss critical sustainabilities and find new connections and even alliances for action. The daytime event itself is fully booked, but you everyone is free to join us for the afterparty for some live poetry, music and a chance to hang out with your local critical sustainability minded people. The performers at the event are: Kasper Salonen (poetry), DJ Kolektiv and DJ LauraPop.

The afterparty is in Bar Typo from 17.00 - 20.00 (bar is open also after that). Warmly welcome!

About the performers

Kasper Salonen, MA (b. 1987) is a bilingual spoken word poet, translator, visual artist, and cultural organizer. His rhythmically exuberant poems in Finnish and English span diverse topics, leaning into metaphysical dreamscapes as well as issues of psychological welfare and metamodern, anti-capitalist societal commentary. Kasper’s voice contains arrays of emotion, always imbued with an unwavering hope and trust in compassionate human resilience, ecological belonging, and the salvation of the imagination. His performance at the Critical Sustainability afterparty will feature descriptions of personal journeys, empowering collective visions, and a firm stance against all war, propaganda, and genocide. Kasper will also read from his new work of English translations, ”Unspoken Words: Selected Poems of Arto Melleri” (Enostone 2025).
